The GL&V TamPulper™ OCC Module is designed to be simple in concept and process flow. The module combines the pulping to coarse screening into a more compact design than the standard OCC recycling systems used in the past 30 years. Elimination of equipment, control loops and piping reduce initial installation cost. Reduced power consumption leads to a lower operating cost per ton over a traditional OCC system.
Coarse screening is accomplished in the TamPulper OCC module by the use of small slots or holes in the extraction screens on the pulpers. This screening allows the pulper accepts to feed directly forward to Fine Cleaning, Fine Screening, or Fractionation operations. Large plastics and lightweight contaminants not collected on the ragger rope of the Primary Pulper are continuously removed by the Washing Reject Drum. Smaller plastics and floatable contaminants that pass through the drum are removed by the Filtrate Screen and Light Reject Screw respectively. Heavy contaminants settle by gravity in the Clarifier and Filtrate Tray of the Reject Drum. The heavy rejects are discharged at timed intervals by the junk traps.
